need help getting effects

what up people,
I was wondering if anyone knew any places online I could get free downloadable effects that would work for acid. My friend was telling me how he got all these effects that made the track sound like it was being recorded "in a barn" "in a big hall" "Under a bridge" "in a sylo" and all these other crazy backgrounds does anyone know anything about this? He said he got them all from a web site.
I'm also lookin for basic effects like chorus, reverb, and distortion.

Can anyone help me out?

the effect your friend was talking about is called REVERB.
if you wish to use effects in acid you need DirectX plug-ins (vst won't work unless you use a convertor).
you can start by using those that come with acid (native plug-ins).
