Supposedly he won the beat over from Sean Combs (I refuse to call him Diddy) and Busta Rhymes. and i can see them raising the price up something stupid. but after winning a 2 million dollar beat why would you lie about

"MTV: I heard you was doing it real, real big on the new album: There's a rumor that you outbid a few MCs for some multimillion-dollar Neptunes beat?

Nas: Nah. That's very untrue. I don't know where that came from."

Yeah it's kinda weird he deinies it. Unless, he just didn't want to go into details and was pissed off about spending 2 Mil on a beat? lol.. But, We'll just have to wait and see. I want to hear this beat too.

I'd take nas's word before pharell's, i doubt he bought that beat and certainly not for that kind of money, even i refuse to believe he is that stupid... plus he said he is in the works with premo for a new album...

yeh Pharrell could be the one who is talkin B/S here. sounds like this to me. ''errr no comment''

him and Nas have had issues over Kelis in the past so you never know.

i dont even think NaS could afford to pay $2m.

Yeah, I never thought nas would have that kinda dough either. Not to diss the man but you just don't see him doin as much. Of course he could be running his own little things on the side and gettin cake. 2 Mil is a little much though for a track. But it sounds like Pharell got paid from someone. I don't think he would say it was a done deal unless someone bought it.

In an interview with Shaheim Reed from MTV News, Nas reveals some great news for any Nas or Hip-Hop fan in general: he's working with DJ Premier again for his next album. Oh and according to him, the rumors of a Neptune beat he bought for $2 million are not true.
Also interesting is the fact that Nas wants to focus on his new label, trying to build a solid team of MCs. "I'm starting off something new," he told MTV News, "You might be surprised of who you see rolling with me."
Apparently, Nas is contemplating signing with another label than Columbia and has been in talks with Def Jam's LA Reid and Atlantic's CEO Craig Kallman. When asked about a possible Jay-Z/Nas song collabo, Nas answered "Who's to tell? Who knows?"
Regarding the 50 Cent situation, Nas doesn't seem too mad at 50, " you know what's the crazy thing about it? I've had times of missing 50. I brought him with me on tour before. He used to open up for me. I showed him his first Bentley. I showed him his first big diamonds in person — he ain't know nobody who had real diamonds the size I had. I showed him all that," he told MTV.
"I would love to really sit down with him. But on the rap side, we got things to finish. We got business — we got unfinished business."

Maybe it's rhetoric. Nas may feel like he didn't have to outbid anyone.

Just an idea.
