this is all new to me but is there a way i can hook the two up so i can play my drums on the mpc and sounds on the triton le? at one point they were hooked up but i could only put one le sound on the mpc. when i went to the 2nd or 3rd track to add another sound, i'd lose the 1st sound. i turned the local off on the le but i don't know if i have to do anything to the mpc? any answers?

Hey,

Huh?!?! "...put one le sound on the mpc." ???

Do you mean you were trying to sample the audio from the Triton into the MPC?

Some questions:

1. What are you using as your master sequencer, the Triton or the MPC?

2. Are you trying to trigger the MPC's sounds from the Triton's sequencer, or are you trying to get both sequencers to play together in sync?

Take care,

Nick

my bad, most people i talk to tell me to use the mpc as the master so thats what i'm doing. lets say i put drums on track 1 of the mpc. tr.2 is a midi sound from the lets keys. if i want another sound from the le i'll set tr.3 up for midi. lets say strings. when i play back the seq. to hear what i recorded i will hear the drums i recorded on the mpc but i will only hear the last sound i recorded midi, the strings. i've been on a couple of fourms and no one knows why. like i said the le's local is off, and the channel is set. i didn't mess with the midi functions on the mpc because i'm not sure. also bare wit me. i'm in the army, in korea now so i'm not on the site at the same time as u.s. time but i will respond sooner or later.
thanks

Hey,

If I understand you correctly you have it setup the following way:

Track 1: triggers drums from the MPC on channel 1, midi port A.
Track 2: triggers keys from the Triton on channel 1, midi port B.
Track 3: triggers strings from the Triton on channel 2, midi port B.

However, when you hit play on the MPC, you only hear the drums and the keys, the strings are nowhere to be found?

I'll bet the the Triton is in a mode where it only plays one sound at a time, like a 'single' mode. You'll have to put the Triton into a multi mode so that it can load different sounds into different parts and receive midi on different channels.

In the Triton manual there should be a section on how to control the synth from a computer, it will tell you what mode to put it into to load sounds into the 16 different parts and trigger them via midi.

Take care,

Nick

ave 76--- When you use the mpc with the triton use the cursor to go down to drum program...use the big knob in the middlie turn left and it should say drum program off....Then use the arrows(cursor) to move right I think to turn midi 1a on....drums must be off!!the numbers on the midi go up to 16 and there should be 16 tracks in your triton assign each sound you want to use in each of the 16 tracks in the triton you must use seperate tracks for an different sound...for example track 1 on mpc should read midi 1a and whateever sound assigned in triton 's frst track should be played from the mpc 2a on the mpc should be track two in the triton......I have a triton rack and I know that I always have to be in multi mode for recording sequences and it may be the same for the triton le
