the psp is KING... and i hate Sony.

yea itunes is a pain for the iPod, that's like the main reason I never got one

here's something u guys might wanna read:

Apple to remove iTunes' copy protection:

BEIJING, Jan. 7 (Xinhuanet) -- Apple said songs on its popular iTunes digital music service will no longer be saddled with copy-protection software.

The news was released by Apple's senior vice president Phil Schiller who replaced CEO Steve Jobs to do Apple's presentation Tuesday at the Macworld trade show in San Francisco.

DRM, shorthand for Digital Rights Management, is the "protection" that is encoded into purchased digital audio files, such as songs from iTunes.

Apple previously sold most songs for 99 cents, with copy-protection software attached. In April, all song prices will change to one of three tiers: 69 cents, 99 cents or 1.29 U.S. dollars.

By then, Apple expects to have removed the copy-protection software from all its digital music. About eight million unrestricted songs are available today.

It was likely a compromise between music companies and Apple.

Record companies have pushed for varied pricing. Apple faced competition from online retailer Amazon, which started selling unrestricted music in 2007.

I really like my iPod a lot more then the other alternative brands I bought in the past.
Before my ipod I owned a Creative Zen, a Sony, and a Panasonic was my very first MP3 player....Eventually I finally gave in and now I cant live without my iPod. So much better.

*I dunno why everybody hates iTunes. iTunes works perfectly fine for me.
If your worried about transferring files back and forth there are cost free ways to do that as well.

I use a program called Senuti, its dope. You just fire it up, find the songs you want to transfer back to the computer and then hit the green button. Done. Now all your files are in your library again and you can just drag them out to whatever destination u want.

Also, u can set your ipod to not be synced to iTunes and instead manually sync your songs and movies. This works way better.

I just like to open up my windows explorer....Select my songs...drag them over...and that's it..

I don't want to open up another program to do so...And you really can't just click and drag with itunes...

Plus they're WAY more pricey than another mp3 player with similar memory....You spend about 150 on an
8gb Ipod...

You can buy double that space for the same price on others...Ipods are cool...but not worth the extra money in my opinion....

I like ipods, but can't stand Itunes. Once you install it , it becomes your default audio player....it's really a mess to disassociate it.

You can change it from your default player. I tunes isn't the best, but that doesnt mean it doesnt work. I few changes to the settings and its all good.

I've used an Ipod before and the software irritates me to death, I want a straight drag and drop in explorer style player, I hate being restricted by software. Regardless thank you for the opinions fellas, I'm going to keep searching. Hopefully Easter will bring some deals...

This is a simple preference fix.

I dont understand whats restricting about iTunes tho?
It does everything its supposed to and is really easy to use.
And as far as "drag and drop" you can do that in iTunes onto your iPod as well.
Thats the only way i dump songs onto my iPod these days. You just have to choose to manually sync your ipod to iTunes.

LOL dude, you can choose which ever you player you want as default. Look through your settings.

Itunes come in handy when I'm organizing my music. Esp. with the "Genius" playlist. It saves a shit load of time when you're trying to put a quick playlist together. Esp. when I'm DJ'n. But yea, it's not my default audio player.... I still prefer Winamp as my default player lol.

I got a Sansa Fuze 4gb on special at Futureshop for about 54$ U.S, and will be buying an 8gb MicroSD for about 15$ US so I'll have 12 gb total for a very good price. The player itself seems great so far, good sound quality, and the build itself seems nice and sturdy.

You would've paid twice to three times that much if you went to an iPod.
