How would I go about exporting the stems from my Cubase projects? Are they a specific file type? I was googling about it and some people were saying it would basically be separate exports with all but one track muted at a time. If that's the case, then wow that's gonna be a lot of files. That being said, I'm getting a store up and running on beatstars to offer some of the better one's for sale and I need To upload the stems for those particular packages. Anybody have a good rundown on that? I read something about they need to be zipped files as well so apparently I need to learn to do a few things. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Also, I have some Cubase projects that were made in LE, before I bought artist, and when I try to open them they open in LE. How do I get them to open in artist instead?

Why are you zipping them up? Do you need to send them to someone else? You can export all the stems in one go in cubase.
Because to post the beats for sale on beatstars, the premium package includes stems, so I need to have them uploaded/available in case somebody decides to purchase them. That's if I'm gonna have that package for sale. They basically have levels where they can just buy the mp3, .wav or stems. Speaking of, what are .wav files anyway?

mp3 is a compression algorithm that makes audio files use much less hard drive space but it lowers the quality. .Wav files (and .aiff for old Mac heads) are uncompressed full quality audio files, you should ALWAYS mix down to 24bit .wav. Personally I wish DAW's didn't export to MP3 as it kind of encourages bad habits.

Good to know, and thank you. So does that mean .wav files are also better for casual listening or not in that context?

.wav files are better in every way other then file size.

As someone learning to produce, you gave me something to consider with respect to recording vocals and quality.
