yo people....when you are talking about underrated rappers you have to think about rappers who DONT GET RATED AT ALL.

People be saying Mos Def and Pharoah Monch or whatever....and YES they are dope and underrated.....but they ARE rated....thats why EVERYONE think they are underrated.

the most underrated rappers of all time are the ones who have been in the game for ages and a fucking dope and hardly get a review...

although he's rated, Kool G. Rap gets my pick for being one of the most underrated lyricists, it's like only underground/ol' school cats can really dig Kool G.... (his beat production probably has a lot to do with it too)
It's like all rappers have the same English language of words to choose from to express themselves but this dude......... the way he puts them together, it's an like intricate wordplay, with a child-like effort..

...to me, what I think it means is that although a rapper has had some type of recognition as a rapper (Someone has heard of them before)
he/she still don't get their proper 'homage' as one of the Greats of all time....

So yeah the whole "rated" thing is not the focus, it's who do you believe deserves props as Superior in the game despite mass media and popular (music buyer) opinion!
