I am trying to up my mixing skills and I stumbled across the following article:

in general i'd say read up a little more on specific things than something like this...this is geared towards engineers doing rock mixes back in the 80's. i'd try reading some of the articles we have posted in the resources section here on compression, eq, reverb. just understand the basics of when to use these and learn the plugins you have. unless you're trying to be an engineer just worry about producing, there's more than enough to learn about that subject alone!
