im in the market to get a good recording mixer and was wondering what y'all use? give me some insight on how your setup is hooked up to your mixer if you can. i want to get a good visual in my head on how it will look in my setup if i get one. thanks

ok i got a lot of suggestions but nobody has really answered my question on how y'all incorporate it into your setup? i especially wanna know from those of you who use it with a pc. does it plug into your soundcard? where do you plug in your monitors?? thanks

if you wanna do what you said above, id get an amp....
you only really need a mixer if you are sampling from records on a deck, then you connect the out from the mixer to the input in you soundcard, deck to mixer channel
but if you want to use it as an amp, then you gotta connect it to the output from your soundcard to one of the phono channels on the mixer, then you could run your speaker of it...
but i would get a real amp, mixers are just pre amp capable of only boosting the signal 0db

YO IT ALL DEPENDS ON UR USE I GOT A Yamaha MG16/4 16-Input 4-Bus Mixer, ok i use the mixer to kinda give my Mbox more ins and as an extra preamp for my mics. depending what u got u can do a different of things, for exmple iy u got an mpc1000 but only have i set of ins on ur pc ucan use a mixer to hand eq every diffent channel and then send the final product, feel me it all on what other stuff u got.

OK I GUESS I WASNT BEING TOO SPECIFIC THE LAST TIME AROUND. WHAT IM REALLY LOOKING FOR IS A MIXER WITH A PRE-AMP SO I CAN USE THAT TO RECORD VOCALS. THATS THE TYPE OF MIXER IM LOOKING FOR. I CAME ACROSS THIS BABY ON ZZSOUNDS.
