mixer/audio interface

Okay I was wondering if I bought the m-box right now and used pro tools with just my mouse etc, etc....would i be able to, later on when i had more money, purchase a mixer that could work through the m-box but also work with protools digitally....so would the faders in protools respond to the faders on the mixer????

i know i could check out the porject mix or the digidesign 002 but i wanted to buy a good mixer with really good mic pre amps...

you would also need a mixer that can remotely respond/control.
