Right now i am using fruity with just placing sounds
with aiming my mouse and clicking to lay the samples
how much of a difference is it when using a midi to trigger sounds. Peace

The difference is that tou can "play" your samples. You can work your music with your ears and not with your eyes. I guess it's more musical to use your ears... I think that if your a bit serious about your music you need one.

I suggest to you the korg mikrokontrol. You got pats and fader and classic keys on it, all you'll need. I've got an Oxygen8 by m-audio witch is very nice but doesn't have pads on it (when a bought it, it was the only midi controler on the market with knobs...)
