My goal was to learn Protools since its in every studio and my experience with it
will get me more work selling these tracks.

This sunday I bought a M-box.

I currently have MPC 2000 connected to my Mackie DFX 12 mixer.

The production method I would like to use is:

Make the beat on the MPC and record the vocals in Protools.

Since I have discovered that MBox has no midi ins/outs

my question is:

is there any other method I can employ to utilize my MPC with this Mbox setup ??

Can I use another midi interface?
Can I use the mixer main outs to connect to the M box inputs??

Note: If I spent $500 bucks for a device that can't be used in my current setup, all I can say is "Call security at Guitar Center!!"

how about you get the 8 outs on it and connect them up to the mbox but i am not sure if you can fit all of them cuz i think the mbox on has 4 plugin's (am i right or wrong) but i think it would be easyer for you to track the beats out in the mbox tho

Thanks for your help, I will look into the specifics of midi usb adapters
and see how that will add into my current set-up.

The M-box comes with 2 ins/2 outs .

One option I have been considering was to use my Tascam US-122 (which has a midi in/out) to slave my MPC 2k to Reason, which is included w/ the M-box package.

Once it is in Reason, I can run the re-wire function and dump my tracks into Protools for final editing, compression and all that other good stuff!!

I'm just trying to find out if the abovementioned is possible??
