What's the best software for matching drums to a sample, or even recreating the same drums that a sample has, just to give the kicks and snares different sounds. Thus far, I finding FL to be a pain...That program is mad fruity (shit's ruining my whole day)...You know, the snare will be 0.0023 seconds ahead of the sample or some shit...And you can't see the wave so you have to guess where "exactly" the kick will come in...

Fuck all that bullshit.

Anyone know a good program for someone that's comfortable with the kind of precision you get from Adobe Addition, when you're chopping up samples.

Peace

noob...hit ctrl+e to open up the wav editor

and use good samples hehehe, there's probably a tenfold of crappy samples available opposed to useable ones.

haha i havn't used FL in month in exchange for reason but an hour ago i opened it up and for the first time realized how user friendly the program is. I used FL for a year before I knew what a midi keyboard was used for!

I'll try that wav editor but that piano roll shit, I'm just not fucking with it...you have to do a lot of guessing with that program and shit's just time-consuming.

On Adobe you can chop up your samples in 10mins. and have the complete joint there.

FL is gay.

^^^you're just noob, dont blame the proggie hehehe...

Recycle can chop your samples with 1 minute, on soundforge it would take 2 minutes to slice a whole cd if I must... Shit's all relative and depends on your perspective.

fruity loops is totally capable.... (it is now owned by twelve tone (cakewalk) and it has basically the same capabilities as sonar just a different interface and missing some more pro features (it is mostly just in the interface)

It not owned, its a under service by twelve tone since they also do publishing and distribution. They both have similar abilities, but that goes for all other platforms aswell but cakewalk and FL arent related technically.

weird though, I just looked on the cakewalk site and noticed they're selling RGC Z3ta as the newest member of the cakewalk family... But it's still RGC:Audio as OEM as I opened the pic, looking for the logo. I bet it's the industry right now, anything goes so it seems.

just cause it's called fruity doesn't means it has homosexual tendencies. although in contrast a bad work ethic could be understood as little limp-wristed.. so kid.. do your homework or suffer the consequences!

k.... yeh i was merely trying to point out how rediculously capable nearly all software shit is nowadays not say they were similar because truth be told fruity loops shits me and i love cakewalk sonar 4 (it is all i use tho so using other shit although i usually don't end up feeling i'm lacking features just feels weird)

all in the interface in fact for drums alot of people like fruity loops and can't really use anything else the same....

i think everyone here with experience ends up responding to this shit as it really erks them

ALL new software packages now are more than capable.... (ntrack, fruity loops, reason, sonar, logic, cubase, nuendo, whatever other bollocks shit they have now) all more featured than an mpc, sp-12, eps-16, asr-10, k2000 etc)

blaming your gear is weak full stop

I just started using using Fruityloops a few months ago you can do a lot with that software. But 2 months ago, I was introduced to Reason and I've been stuck using it since. Some things you can do easier in FL than Reason. And also, u can use VST in FL that's the good thing about FL. But every now and then I bounce back to FL to see what I can come up with. I wish theres a way to combine the 2 programs. As for Matching up drums, I usually chop up the samples... or play with the pitch.

First off, read the manual.. You'll quickly learn about the fit feature.. This way you don't have to use the piano roll and it throw's your sample on beat for you. I tend to switch them up though.

I just figured it out...you use the piano roll and the playlist to match the drums to your wave file...The shit just looked mad complicated at the time...Damn, I've been up all night chopping up samples...I'm looping shits that I didn't hear the first time I listened to the joints.

Get that Gladys Knight & The Pips for weird/unique sounds...Oh shit...

I can see I have a lot to learn...This program is gonna take at least 2 years to fully understand

Do you know what the fruity Slicer is?

This lil VST is my best tool when using fruity... no need to chop up that much any more... lol
