Matching Beat with Vocals(Part 1)

I just download the acappella version of American Gangster, and I'm planning on making just one remix beat of one of the acappella songs on the album. See the thing is...I'm using FL Studio 7 and I was wondering if I ask a couple of questions on how to arrange my remix beat with the vocals:

1. Does the tempo of the beat has to be equal with the tempo of the vocal?
2. Do I have to chop the vocals to match up the beat?
3. Or to summarize completely, is it possible to do this on FL Studio 7?(Demo version)

get the tempo of the original song that the acapella came from and you'll have a good starting tempo for the remix. You can get the tempo of the original track with any program that uses a beat map feature. Never try to get the tempo you want to use for your remix from the vocals/acapella. That never works imo.

that album was on the internet for free how much did you pay to download the full album?

Since you using FL studio all you gotta do is right click the tempo and click "tap" and just tap out the bpm
tap out the snares and multiply that by two or tap out the hi-hats and divide that by two.
