So....
You think you've dug in the nastiest most scum filled places on the planet... well my friends, then you haven't been to Mars, an infamous spot in Montreal that closed a while back. I remember my first time visiting the joint back in 96... it was FILTHY. Man, as soon as you walk in, there's just PILES and piles of junk everywhere. Tons of records (I'd say at least a 100000 +) and an equal amount of porn. So you had a good mix of vinyl fanatics and perverts looking through dirty magazines. There was no order, no sections, just piles of records. Some in sleeves, some broken in half... I remember having to physically climb a pile of records to get to another part of the store. It was always interesting digging there because you never knew what the hell you'd find. It had everything... quite literally. Soul, funk, jazz, rock, hip-hop, reggae, world. So you were pretty much guaranteed to find something, but the problem was that it took fuckin hours upon hours to dig there. The place was real dirty, I mean fuckin FILTHY. The kind of place you'd expect to contract a rare disease. There was one point when I was digging I found a few recs that had suffered some serious water damage and they had mold growing all over them, real filthy....
NOW Once you gather all your records, you had to go deal with the nutjob owner who was straight out of the 60's, vietnam style. He has suffered the long time effects of smokin way to many fuckin drugs. He would bother me while I was diggin, saying that "1 million and one strings" records were incredible. He'd price records based on the name and producer on the record, so sometimes he'd charge like 20-30$ a record, regardless of its shape! The guy was a fuckin scumbag, but I got away with some deals at that joint. Point of story, there is none, just a report on some wacked out shop with good records at odd prices.
The picture above is before it got really dirty, so you can imagine hahah. Also, that's just a small section of the store... there was tons more recs!
Fade's probably got some stories as well, so hit em up Fade!
