I am working on some remixes lately but hell remixes can be such an ordeal. Actually I hate it, LOL.

First off, don't spend your time on vocals/acapellas that are dirty as fuck with pieces of music from the original beat or band or whatever. Unless you know how to clean it but in lots of cases you can't filter it good enough without fucking up the vocals.

Get your acapella on track, so it is on beat. No use in creating a beat around an acapella that is off beat. There are various ways to find out. Some songs got their bpm somewhere on the internet. Sometimes you need to stretch or adust the bpm until it fits. A handy way to do so is using the chorus first to find out and later you can fine tune. This is ussualy the point where I bail out and go use my creativity for a beat LOL.
Also listen listen to the original so you can hear how the vocals are laid on the track, the first starting point is essential, in most cases. I ussualy skip this one too, just too lazy I guess. The original can also be used to find out the bpm, just chop a loop out of it and go from there.

Well this prolly dont help much but good luck anyways and have fun!

chop out a break from the original song and use that groove, and go from there... easiest way for me. Or chop all the vocals and lay it on that way, manually... most precise way, but most time consuming also
