I had a weird thing happen yesterday that I never had before.

I was in my DAW playing back my recording when I got this super loud tone just blast through, and it was totally random. I figured it had to be a plugin that I installed but after uninstalling a few new ones I just recently installed, the tone was still there.

So I looked at my soundcard settings (audio8dj) and for some reason the latency was all messed up. Normally I would leave it at 192 samples for the Process Buffer, but for some reason it was at the lowest possible 32! So I put it back to 192 and the tone was gone.

Has anyone else had issues like this with their soundcard settings? I still don't know why mine when to 32 because there's a diagnostic tool that gives warnings if my computer can't handle a low buffer, but it didn't show a warning this time. Weird.

Anyway, this is a warning to everyone to check their settings but I'd also like to know if anyone else has had an issue like this.

i was at my friends house and his dad is a musician so we went to his studio and started programing beats while he was missing, i dont know what happend but suddently the studio monitors stopped playing. Turned out the studio monitors were unusable after that. No wonder we both got grounded for a week.

did native instruments put out an update recently? the update probably reset the buffer.
