Hey everyone, my friend bought logic pro x. He put it on a flash drive and i downloaded it onto my mac just to test it out. Whenever I try to make a beat and put any hard 808s like lex luger kits or others in they're always way too loud and I have to turn them down so low that its pretty much pointless. Do you think its because it isn't the original logic bought off the website? definitely looking to purchase a daw just wanted to get some opinions on this first. Thanks hope to hear from you all soon

What kind of studio monitors? And are you working on your levels inside of ultra beat as well? What other things are in the low end of your mix?
the studio monitors are samson, they aren't that good.. not doing anything inside the ultra beat and nothing else really in the low end except bass but even before the bass it still clips loud. I sent an example to someone I know and they said the kicks are distorted but I know of plenty other people that use the kicks thats why I thought it might be bc my logic isn't original

It looks to me like you have distort turned up in ultra beat. Its kind hard to tell for sure. Can you confirm?

Well what was the issue?
As far as not having the legal version, everything should work fine. But come on its $200, are you going to try and sells beats? Then you should pay for your tools. If you are just learning and not making money then I think it's a wash.
