I use only live 4 now. Before live 4, I used reason in rewire with cubase sx or live 3. But I dont really need reason anymore with the good midi integration in live4. In fact I prefer using au or vst synth with live than the malstrom/subtractor of reason. And the cute little sampler that come with live 4 are better suited for fast composition and hiphop coposition, so I like them better than the nn-19 of reason. I just wish I had a rex sampler like dr. rex in a vsti format.

The reason I don't use cubase anymore is that live is so easy to use and fast as hell. Some will say that the sound quality ain't all that but you know it's better than much hardware (that a lot of people use for hiphop).

aight thats tight cuz i have been checking it out it seems pretty tight, so if i had an mpc and a keyboard i can sequence it in live, and edit all the tracks

I just upgraded to Ableton Live 4 I was using Live 3 before hand, it's very flexible, easy to use and endless potential for making music compositions. Also a note on the sound quality, those people that complain about the sound quality of Live should check the quality of the music/audio samples/etc, their putting into it. It definetly doesn't blemish the audio unless it's already blemished. Forget about whether it looks good though get it for the practical use that it will have in your lab: does it have the features you need, does it work well, does the software have good tech support, etc.
