I love Nas, almost as much Guevara, lol.
1. I think "It Was Written" was the best album I ever heard... PERIOD! He got jerked with that 4 mics shit. From start to finish I was speechless. The colabos were on point and production , TIGHT! I liked it more than "Illmatic" I guess cause it gave you a broader view of mr. jones.
2. Nastradaumus was not a complete wash! I like the damn thing!

3. "GodSon" I could not get into. 3 tracks got the nod, thats it.

This new joint is gonn be good for him. I hope that Az joint is on there "Serious"

Stillmatic was a great album, but if you have go back and check out "It Was Wriiten" and get back at me. I copped "It Was Written" and "Reasonable Doubt" at the same time. I was more blown away with Nas' whole persona even back then. "Watch them dude that be close to you" , "I Gave You Power" And the fucking intro OMG! I love that sample!

yea stillmatic woz good but its nowhere near illmatic or IWW ! i agree with joe people always talk like nas has just made illmatic but IWW woz written is as good imo, the messgae, i gave you power pretty much every track really ! like you said its more varied than illmatic but just as good, i even like I am .. too not as much as the first too but its a good album but nastradamus woz eeewwwww !
God's son woz ok i think it woz overated personally there were a few good songs and get down and made you look were good singles but the rest woznt anything that special and some tracks like zone out were shit !
but im hoping streets disciple is gonna be hot !

NaS will always be my favorite rapper and illmatic will always be my fovorite album, I still have the cassette. "It was written" was hot as well, the Problem with "Nastrudamus" he was kind of leaving his element, and trying to go commercial. When you look at some of the videos from "Nastrudamus" he doesnt look comfortable at all. And as much as I like NaS I dont think he has that out going prersonality. The main reason I like NaS is becasue he raps about more serious issues or a story to tell with more creativity then just flowing about all his hoes and bling.

honestly, i think people were bothered by the RnB influence on that album... its a great album though, by no means garbage, maybe 3 songs too long or so....(to me)

but nas has a caalog, seriously... nastradamus aint exactly a banger though, i counted three dope songs... i am was so-so, maybe 5 that i still listen to. still and son though, nice, the only album i like straight through wit hno skipping is illmatic though, which makes it the only classic in my book. my guess is DISCIPLE will be a significant album..... i am highly anticipating that.

For me, Illmatic is my favorite hip hop album of all time. So rank it first, stillmatic second, and it was written third. That firm shit was beginning, and it was wack. AZ is nice though.

Nas is just incredible.........the detail of his rhymes are crazy. I was readin the lyrics to some of them on another site, and its just amazing. I like to read the lyrics now before i check a song cuz the beat sometimes can throw me off, or make me not want to hear what he has to say..................but to quoute coldtruth " NAS is DOPE..........PERIOD."

It was written is a great album, but illmatic is a classic without a doubt. From then on, he has done some ok albums, but none compare to those 2.
