Okay, I know there have been previous posts, and I did search but none were able to answer my question. So check it,,,this cat wanted to buy two of my beats. My "Top Shelf" beats at that. So, I told him I'll hook him up, 400 for both. I normally would sell these for 3oo a piece, but whatever. So dude gets back to me like, "Let me lease them." I'm not too familiar wit leasin. So, for some of yall that leased one of ya joints, can you give me a heads up on what to do. I have a contract and all. But how does a payment schedule work? Yearly? One time? I know Big D got some info. How bout Swiv? Get at me please.

I leased that trifling beat I had. all leasing means is that YOURE not giving up your Rights to the beat. You can still use you beat for whatever, mixtapes, album, but the person leasing the beat can only use it one time and MUST give you production credit in the album or whatever its being used on. If you actually sell the beat your giving up all rights to the beat. and the person you sell it to can use it as many times as possible. Just make sure that the beats are copyrighted before you lease them out though. This could prevent alot of future infrigment of your leased beat. I hope this is of some help to you stress. Congrats Too!!
