Laying Down samples?

I'm tryin to sample that O'Jay's who Am I, I'm Tryin to get the same part dipset had in theirs but for some reason i can't get it to loop right i am using Cool Edit Pro and fruity loops 5 do any of ya'll have any better software to lay down sequences and put drums down using the same software so it will flow?

u probolly need to chop the sample and and put it back togher to get it intime, i do that alot with my mpc, alot of those old records have live musicans with natural swing so if u just try and loop it wont sound right. Most cats chop a loop and replay it someway to get it back intime

Do you use any software to chop it up on the mpc or do it all on the mpc?

i usually use software like sounforge to get the loop, then i transfer it and chop on the MPC but there are plenty of people here who chop using software... just ask around

u should be able to do it in Cool Edit and FLStudio

i'm mad busy at the moment but if u send me an mp3 of the track I'll try and do it for you (I have Cool Edit and FL too) to see if I can get it to loop

Classics recomendations is the best ..... You need to carefully chop up your sample better so that u can trick the cut to match up in the timing,....I do it all the time when i use samples too....Its just easier that way.

Just Blaze is the best at chopping up samples and turning them into seamless joints...

sometimes if you are using fl just thow it in the slicer plugin then, and set the loop on the slicer to what eva number of bars u want it to be, this will keep the loop at a certain number while cutting little segements out so it can fit, this doesnt work with everythinh but on some samples it does so tryit.

It's just practice, dunn...!

I'm having the same problem with FL...Shit's terrible when it comes to matching drumbeats to the samples drums...It's that whole 16-step sequencer...it's so unintuitive.
