latency issues with cubase 5

I'm having latency problems with cubase 5, there is no latency when I record, but when I play back what I recorded, the is a half a second delay. I have tried playing with the setting in the devise setup window (record shift) without success .

What do you mean, do you mean it is a half second off the rest of the tracks? Are you using ASIO drivers? What audio card do you have?

when I record a loop using my edirol keyboard controller there is no sign of latency until the loop cycles back around then there is a noticeable delay in the notes I recorded.

I am running cubase through a M Box 2 mini.

since the question isnt at all specific. if i have to guess this sounds like a monitoring problem. the tracks you have armed to record, check the buss for playback settings, record settings? hell im guessing.

i had that problem in studio 4. activating "use system timestamp" in the midi settings within the preferences panel solved it for me...

Make sure you have the Mbox Asio drivers installed.

which o/s version?
updated asio drivers? which asio are you using, pt's or another?
direct monitoring?
enabled delay compensation?
timestamp?
what buffer settings?
tracking with plugins?
