Yeah. I have that. bought it about a month ago.
Yo 1nce you get used to the keys its the shit.
The pads feel good to bang out on too.

If you a keyboardist its not for you. But if you bang out , sample , and play simple melodies then its for you.

Especialy if you use reason and logic. You can control almost all the parameters of those progrmas from it.

I love. It.

It maps the sounds to the keys the same withany other midi controler.
The pads control c1 thru ? (Not familiar wit all the notes).
You can even assign different notes to different pads and or keys if you know how to do all dat .its fully programable.

Oh and it doesn't have sounds in it. Its a midi controler.

It laso has templates to control different things in reason logic ableton live annd all the other poular software.

Yeah, someone posted a link to a video from NAMM showcasing this product about a year ago. Too bad that I bought all the individual parts before it came out (Midikeyboard, MPD-16 pads, Edirol UC-33 Midi Mixer)...I would rather have had the microcontrol and then bought a laptop instead, then I could drag my music with me anywhere.

a cd usually drags my music anywhere i go instead of the studio  j/k

Do you hafto load sounds to the keys or does it come with a soundset?

this is a midi controller, that means it just plays sounds that come from external sources such as sound modules or software.

you get controller knobs and levels, drum pads, and cheesy keys i think those are all essential for computer based studios, and all for 299 thats not a bad deal at all. For 199 that would be a blow out sale!

so dope, feels solid.
keys are like the micro korg.. not the greatest but awsome for a small controller..

with the mpc style pads, faders, and keys, i wish i didnt buy my edirol pcr 30
but every month there is a newer nicer midi controller out, look at novations remote series.. tight.
the akai mpd is overpriced
