Fuck, i gotta say Ive been steadily hiding in the cuts watchin Maschine for a minute now and it def looks like the most promising new software studio to compete with the MP......i kinda want one. haha

I agree.....for those that are still "hardware sampling" Maschine looks pretty dope with an extra fast work flow (IDEAL). I myself can't see going back to MPC style sampling even though I own one. Mine is strictly a midi controller these days and has been for years. I actually should own an MPD32 but I just can't seem to box my MPC up again. I really should retire it though....sell it? NEVER..............

With the new Slice to midi option which allows you to chop on the Trasients in Ableton 8 I can do crazy damage to samples....that joint is extremely precise. 98% of time there's no extra tweaking of the sample needed. Get your filtering own and it's a wrap! We're not going to even get into the time stretching abilities of warp mode...STOOPID!

Didnt you do some tutorials on ableton, and if so wheres that link?
I have ableton and just can ever seem to get around to going through the tutorial that comes with it.

Word LDB, im actually a sucker for that oldschool MPC-Style of sampling and composing so thats why I really dig the idea of Maschine becuz it appears to have the same workflow but with the benefit of processing power thanks to the computer. Pretty fucking cool.
Ive actually been waiting for mad long to see the day where a software let you sample directly into it the way you can on the MPC and it looks like Maschine finally did it.

Damn sure does. If I sampled by way of hardware I'd (knowing me, I'll probably get it anyway...I'm a sucker like that) buy it. Especially since the MPC can't seem to catch up with today's technology or faster work flow. Hardware does give the samples a diff't sound but only us producers hear it. The average music buyer or listener doesn't......nothing wrong with old school ways though..shit..what ever gets your creative juices going ya dig!

ive always craved faster processing... thats the one thing i wish i had... i got everything else in the RS, except that.

The thing is that the technology is there! There is no good reason...(other than money) that AKAI could have put this in the bullshit MPC5K....that probably would have help sell the piece of shit. They now have a lonnngggg road to walk themselves back into the game of drum samplers. Dudes would rather cop the 4k, 2500 or 2K rather than look at the MPC5K. Those mofo's just want to milk us for every freaking $100 bill they can get. If they can put the technology into software they surely can add it to the hardware....hardware runs off of said software right? RIGHT.....

the 5000 is slow at processing samples? i know on the RS, the longer the sample, the much longer the slice process is... the Roland MC909, which came out later on (2002), is VERY fast at this, so i would expect EVERYTHIING 2day to be even faster than that rite now... what is the 5000 missing?
