Im down wit Hi Tek and THE RZA. But I think you Forgot About Dre. Is he just too far above all of them or is there a reason your not mentioning him?

is there a reason who isnt mentioning dre? as for myself i dont think dre is all that great- i like the styles of of others much more than i like dre. plus i dont like the kits he uses- i think his snares usually sound awful. so........ why would i mention an artist i am not to crazy about? i think he is only "to far up" in terms of overall impact, but his beats arent in the same league in my book. to me he makes hits and markets and helps artists get the most out of their potential..... but for pure beats i like at least 20 other cats more..... thats just my tastes and please do not start with this "you must be crazy" nonsense just because i like other artists more....

But we were talkin' bout West startin' some sh*t that cats b4 him sartin' & rocked, "Pete Rock" should get their just done.....lol you cats are funny. It's all good dog!! Ain't mad@cha....lol like I said in earilier post my top producers are: Pete, Tek, JayDee, Premo, all them maf*@kaz use MPC's & SP12's and sh*t. But don't get me wrong, I love all you maf*@kaz..... Computer heads and all.......

nah, i was just sayin, i dont think pete has any crown, and here is someone i think is better, because you said "i cant believe you people... what you be smokin?" so it really wasnt about hi tek- he was just an example, like pete aint better than this guy, so who really has the "crown"

I like Dre personally, him, those Neptune niggas, Daz (when he was with Deathrow), and Darren Vegas are my favorites *ducks*:scared:. But for real though they make beats that mc like me would love to wreck. I really dont see a point behind makin beats that are hard to sing or rap to or even dance to.......maybe its just cause Im new to production.

well, people just like different stuff. thats all; it isnt because you are new to production at all. in fact, thats an overlooked point at times in production, simplicity. a lot of people enjoy more complex arrangements, i know i do, but ometimes the more you add it takes away from the vocalists ability to accentuate the music as opposed to fighting it for space. its also a basic engineering concept....

the beat is easy to make once you find the sample, and the right part of the beat to loop. Simplicity is genious in itself, though. And if you consider finding samples part of beatmaking (I do), then Kanye is a beast. If his tracks are so easy to make then someone on here should do them BEFORE he does. I can pretty much make through the wire using cool edit in 10 minutes(except for the drums) but I wouldn't say its an easy beat to make initially. Of course it's pretty easy the 2nd time around. Whats sick about the song is he thought of a concept, then found a sample to match that, then made it all go together. She actually is saying "through the Fire" but he expresses his story so well he makes u hear Wire cause thats what the song is about. bottom line -Kanye is sick with it

of course man, by the way I've listen to Chaka Kang song, and I raised the pitch to have the same one and the song is still really different, only the drum and the bassline is almost the same but else, he changed it a lot.
Young le, your right, I always though she was saying Wire, but when you realise it's Fire you can't hear the Wire no more, fucked up ain't it? But she says at the end : right down through the wire, right down throug the fire.

i just checked out the showcase havent checked it in a while and i saw changalang remake of this beat and i was bored so i decided to try it to.
i never thought of kanye as a bad producer or anything but this beat took me about half an hour to make last night. its not as easy as it may sound cause u have to chop up the sample alot if u want it to be on beat. besides that the drums and everything else isnt anything special but overall it was an easy beat to make maybe cause im used to workin wit samples and what not but kanye is still one of my fav producers
i just wanted to post my remake of the beat to see what yall think about it i aint tryna start any beef or anything or tryna get knocked for liking kanye as a producer.
