Kanye thinks he is the G.O.A.T producer

Kanye is good and I enjoy his beats, but he doesn't inspire me. Also, he really took what someone else created, developed it a little further to make it his own style and ran with it. If he sticks around, he might end up on a top 5 list...but not yet.

Regarding Timbaland and The Neptunes, you may not like their style, but you can't really knock their talent. They've made their own style, a new style, which has been so much in demand the last 2-3 years.
A label can place any of their wack ass, rapper of the month on their beats and get a hit cause their beats will carry it. I don't condone it, but it goes to show something about their beats.

However, when it all comes down to it, I don't think that you can compare them. Kaney's beat are more Hip-Hop with a little mainstream vibe, and Timbaland and The Neptunes are more mainstream with a Hip-Hop vibe.

Whether or not Kanye is arrogant and cocky, I really don't care. He isn't my friend and I don't work with him, nor does it influence how I perceive his music.

I couldn't imagine Kanye sayin that I thought he said somewhere that Neptunes are his favorite producers. I agree with Afrique and Cope though, he can say what he wants I'm just listening to him as a producer, I met Pharell and he wasn't tryna listen to my C.D., or even pretend he would listen to it, he gave it back to me I think that's kinda Fucked up but I'm not holdin it against him as a producer. As far as Kanye being one of the best and having a unique sound he really doesn't sound that different than every other sample based producer he samples the same soul shit everyones been samplin for years and he's not consistent. Kanye has a few stand out tracks, but on his C.D. there's maybe 3 or four tracks I can listen to the rest are OK. Some of the singles he puts out are hot, but he's no genius he's nowhere near cats like Jay Dilla, Pete Rock, Dr. Dre, Mad Lib. Kanyes just the flavor of the month right now he said himself it could all be gone anytime. I do respect Kanye because he's givin a lot of underground cats a chance and he's making positive music. Kanye's talking about things that a lot of mainstream rappers are scared to talk about I think he's the best rapping producer ever but as a producer he's not really doin anything that new.

i respect kanye's skill of taking something old and making it sound freshly new...but he is not on the level of the great producers.....best roc producer is just blaze....its good to be confident...knowing that whatever u put out is gonna be hot....u keep that edge...ur gonna be around for a while...i think this way of making beats will fade out eventually.....if he's still around...we'll see how truly versatile of a producer he really is....
