Bluntdude 's thread got closed, lets continue but keep it clean. I've been defending Kanye a lot on this board (if you really got nothing to do, you can go search for the post I made before to really see that i defended him), but this new album, is just not for me, it's more like Be than College Dropout. More jazzy, but it's a wack version of be. I heard it once, fast fast, and there's only 2 great tracks , great as in crazy ill : Bring me down and.....Diamond's for Ever.....

I think Tony Yayo's album is way better than this one production wise, and that's fucked up.

I think Kanye just needs to stay behind the boards. When he's doing beats and that's it he's hot.

Juggling rapping and rhyming makes him average.

Speaking of Yayo's joint, those drums on So Seductive are nice!

I like this joint.

I like the concept for the whole album, that mellow instrumental feel. Its not supposed to be starting where College Dropout left off music wise. And im glad he did dat.

He flipped his style for Commons album and flipped it again for this album.

Its not better than College Dropout but the CD still stands on its own two feet.

i give it 4.5/5

the worst songs on it is the singles.

and Yayos album was garbage, yall need to put the glass dick down. nice beats but dat nigga got no presence on the mic.

diamonds are forever....please

I mean, the beat is great but the lyrics and kanye's "forever" outkast impersonation just ruins anything nice in that track...

Besides, it aint a mega flip over from the original samples, just sample, cut and playback...

Yeah, its nice to have enough dough to clear every sample but I dont think it was much of a challenge...

I mean, what would Shadow, Peanutbutter or Vadim do with that material.....

Yo Kanye Whack? What

Obviously, some people on this forum is borderline crazy. I understand that we are all intitled to our own opinions but come on saying Kanye is Whack is like saying Lauryn Hill, The fugees, BIG, 'Pac, and BIG L is whack. It humors me how people are always asking for a change in hip hop, you know something new and when they get it they complain. Kanye is like a breath of fresh air the genre. How many artist do you know that can make an album that you can listen too from start to finish without really wanting to skip a song. Not many and thats what kanye did with the college dropout(Which was obviously deservant of 5 Mics, but I'm even gonna go there with the source). Late registration is no different. The album is crazy like college dropout and he changed his style 2 show yall that he can also go platnium doing it differently. Literally meaning he has talent. Let me see Chingy or Mike Jones do that, excatly. Come on now his albums and songs be so conceptual that you want to hear what he is saying and in the process of hearing what he is saying you are feeling what he's saying. THis man single-handedly resurrected Common who I longed forgot about. Saying Kanye can't rap is just plain ol' disrespectful to him and the industry. Kanye is not the best rapper but he can have rewinding a song just to re- hear something he said. He has a different style, a different swagger, and a different approach to the industry, thats why he's so succesful. I hate when people talk about Kanye's beats. I never even cared about producing till I heard the "We are the Champions" beat and "Heart of the City" beat he did. He changes his style so that he doesn't always have to work with the same artist but get to work with a more broarder range of artist. He's versatile. Thats why produces like the Heatmakers and 9th wonder(No disrespect i like both of these producers) will never have as much success as Kanye cause they to stuck in their ways. Lastly When people talk about kanyes attitude I laugh, personally I believe everybody should laugh cause he's just honest. He believed he should of won the award hey he told everybody. Like the whole magazine cover issue about how people should be paying him, that was funny cause he was just saying probably in a jokingly manner "Shit I should be getting paid for this" you know the media could blow a pixel out of paportion. But I put my 2 cents in and when you start hating on Kanye or just expressing your right to your own opinion think about what he has done and his accompishments and the albums.

hes actually right, the yayo album did have better production but that can be expected, it is shady/aftermath. lyrically, thats another story of course lol. man i had big expectations for this but it aint real hot to me at all. it might grow on me but at this moment i gotta give it a 3.5/5. no real standouts, except for like 3 tracks.

Naaaa Kanye shud keep rappin even though hes not the greatest if u listen to the radio and MTV the only shyt comin close to the real hip hop shyt is Kanye West tracks that he spits on..keep him behind the board then wack niggas like Cam our gonna fuck up his beats or not lace them right i rather hear a so-so rapper doin real shyt than fag niggas thinkin they hard talkin bullshyt...artists like common dont come around very often and gets real radio play and mtv promotion on real beats..

That's true, but the problem is that 85% of the beats are plain average, and sorry but Gold Digger really suck. The problem is there's no outstanding beat that would make a person say: damn i'd like to be a producer to.

thru the wire, slow jamz, jesus walk, never let me down, two word, i mean there's nothing like this, except for Diamonds and Bring Me Down

Late registration

I just heard the new album, and for the most part, it's mediocre. A couple very nice tracks, and some very lame ones. IMO, College Dropout was 10x better. Although, the track featuring Brandy called Bring Me Down, is FIRE!!! The beat is hot, Kanye's flow is sick, and the hook from Brandy is fire too! I took the liberty of writing the lyrics down lol...BTW< the track is only 1 verse, which I was pretty dissapointed about, but nevertheless, it's the best track on the CD, hands down...

We goin to mass today/
We have to pray, besides what the pastors say/
I have to say, since Pac passed away/
Most of you rappers don't even deserve a track from me/
You see, if you ever wanted to ever be anything/
And always be somebody that'll shoot down any dream/
Any always be haters that's the way it is/
Hater niggaz marry hater bitches and have hater kids/
But they gon' have to take my life before they take my drive/
Cuz when I was barely livin, that's what kept me alive/
Just the thought, that maybe it can be better then when we at it this time/
Make you outta this grind, before I'm outta my mind/
And get some leeway on the he say she say/
Your girl don't like me how long as she been gay?/
Spanish girls sayin no hables inglais/
And everybody wanna run to me for they singlais/
It's funny how these wack niggaz need my help/
Wasn't around when I couldn't feed myself/
Dog if I was you I wouldn't feel myself/
Dog if I was you I'd kill myself/
Made a mill myself and I'm still myself/
And I'ma look in the mirror if I need some help/
Now I speak from the heart, y'all all frontin/
Everybody feel that way about K but at least y'all feel somethin/

Sick verse...
