You will either have to hand bang them, but if your timing is off you will have have problems with the sequencer correcting it with quantization even with input quantizing on or if you put it in loop mode and a note overlaps you cant get rid of it easily....also.....if you record in step mode that will be easier, do you have the manual or the quick start? you can either make rhythms and assign to each pad and then string them together in a song......I had the board a few weeks and i have had lots of hardware sequencers, I found that to be the weak point of the board even though I figured out how to use it, it is just not efficient.....and I think I made a post that if you are used to point and click of Fruity loops or Reason, you are in for a rude awakening....hell I'll even say if you have even sequenced on a good sequencer you are in for a rude awakening on the fantom.....because if you dont figure out how to use the assign to keys or pads for your rythms your ability to do changeups and loops will severely limit how complex you can make your patterns I found that if I make one 8 bar rhythm I liked I save that one and assigned it to the keys or the pad like you want..then I alter that pattern slightly and create the breakdown etc, save that as a different patter and assign it to another pad so I can bring the parts in...if you have used fruity loops this is the same concept of how the numeric pad on the computer keyboard works to bring different patterns in and out.....the thing about making the keys accessible is that the arpeggiator has to be on so you can trigger the pattern assigned to the pads...and there is more...I suggest you take your time and read the manual man...this is not one of those boards where you will figure it out you MUST read the manual to find out all of the features and buttons that have to be pushed ....Im much happier with the Triton extreme....
