This bboy hit me up on myspace today. I know a few of you guys are politically aware.
From what I can tell, this guy is Iranian an he is working on an independent film project in an attempt to fight off going to war. It looks pretty cool. I thought is was worth noting since we are all into art, hip hop and are pretty much anti-war.

I dont harbour anything against the current Iranian average Joe...or average Ahkmed if thats comparible to joe, but I'm not quite forgetting the hostage crisis in the 80's either.
Their latest president is a nut as well (yes,yes, so is bush). I personally wouldnt have a problem with the people having nuclear power BUT Im not a big enough fool to think that they arent gonna give nuke stuff to hezbollah. Iran IS in fact connected to some dangerous elements(fanatics) around the world.
They have a looong way to go on human rights as well.
That being said, going to war with them is about the dumbest self destructive thing I can think of for the US to do right now.
Lest we forget WWII, Hitler COULD have won the thing! Fortunately he too was an idiot and insane and figured he could just create all types of fronts and win on each. Its not possible, not with out the other countries of the world backing us, and rightly they are not at this point.
Getting into a fight with people and then trying to claim favours from friends when you were wrong in the first place just is a bad look.
We should have then AND now finished afghanastan first, THEN if there actually were WMD's in Iraq we could have gone, NOW its all fugged up.

I watched the trailer on his myspace site and I really want to see the finished product. Looks really good. I loved the part about him trying to get his document signed by the notary public. LOL! She had to make sure he wasn't a terrorist. WTF? So, all middle easterners are guilty until proven innocent now? The Bush regime did a number on the US public, didn't they? Damn!

That's what made me post his stuff up here, the trailer. The guy seems like he is a lot like the rest of us. Just trying to get our art out there. And I Don't know any Iranians so his film should be pretty eye opening but I'm like Relic.... certain things you can't forget.

I actually have a really good friend I used to work for in the mortgage industry who is half Persian (Iranian). So, I am sympathetic to the stereotypes that are being thrown around about these wonderful people. NOT EVERY MIDDLE EASTERNER IS A TERRORIST SUSPECT!
What right does any nation that already has nukes have to dictate whever other countries without them cant develop them or not. Thats racism. If the Iranians can develop nuclear power stations then they have every right to, just like every other nation on earth.
The US is guilty of its own human rights issues, Guantanamo for one, torture for two, being caught blowing shit up dressed as arabs three. There are so many more, and the UK is just as guilty when it comes to cloak and dagger activities. What right does such criminal enterprises have to say what others can or cant do? Who apponted us the world police?

The Iranians haven't launched an aggressive war in almost two centuries.
The last war they were involved with was when Iraq attacked them with US backing and direction. That war added up to a couple of million dead across both sides.
Iran held the first democratic elctions in the Middle East in 1953 and elected a guy called Mohammed Mossadegh. He was hugely popular. Mossadegh decided to nationalise their oil because foreign firms weren't really paying tax or contributing to the economy.
The OSS, the precursor to the CIA, under the direction of the US President, organised a coup to overthrow the democracy and reinstall the Shah (Persian for King). The Shah was a monarch who was hated and chased out by the people not long before the election. He was one of the most brutal rulers in the Middle East and was a nightmare to the country.
The Shah's secret police, SAVAK, were trained by Stormin' Norman Schwarzkopf mark 1. The Shah ruled until 1979 when a coup overthrew him and the US Embassy was stormed and the folk who worked there, most likely a mix of CIA and diplomats, were taken hostage.
All that shit done to the Iranians was bad ju-ju. Surely it's no surprise the they were pissed when they got their country back.
