And dizzee is actually signed to a big label you should check out some of the underground 'producers' infact they have a whole channel dedicated to them, its called channel U a great place to showcase there talent ! lol

yeh Channel U plays some of the most low quality music i think iv ever heard. in fact i dont even think it can be called music. there are some nice emcees though like Klashnekoff etc and some nice producers such as Fusion.

there are some pretty good mc's the ones, a lot of them are overrated tho, and as for producers again theres some ok ones no1 special imo, people seem to get a classic status in this country far too easily they are making the same type of stuff as people like dr dre, timbaland, just blaze, dj premier, kanye west people like that and theres not one uk hip hop producer who is touching that level ! MCs in this country are better people like klash would b up there on a level with good us MCs but they aren't given a break its kinda of a two way thing with UK hip hop people say they want to crossover and as soon as someone does they get shot down by their own fans !

yeh i see what your sayin, the UK needs a Kanye/Just Blaze kinda guy on the beats to lift it up. i think it should start to improve soon, as Roc-A-Fella are starting a UK branch which should bring out some good artists.

Very interesting indeed, I paid particular attention to the peeps who is always dissing samples.

Now bare in mind I have not heard music from the showcase since 2002 cos i only peep the net at work, but ive come to the conclusion that some of u r lying to urselves. lol

ima stay digging regardless

who is dissing samples? i dont see anyone dissing samples.... maybe i missed something.

anyways, i am putting this into the other thread. this doesnt warrant a new thread, for one, and for two, this is rediculous.

nobody is trying ot make anyone switch. it amazes me how someone can make such an issue out of something that is a non issue. do you; and let everyone else do them. who cares. keep digging, if thats what it is yuo prefer to do. ima keep composing, cause thats my preference. there is no issue here, so pleeease lets not make it one.

Yo Cold, didn't saw this one before...

All I was sayin, was basically, now music is all derived from sampling technology, that appeared much ''commercially'' in the 80's years.

1855: First sound recording device. Frenchman Leon Scott de Martinville invent a recording device but fail to invent the proper player.

1877, Edison built a working recorder/player with rotative foil drum.
He recorded himself singing ''Mary Had A Little Lamb''.

The first sampling-based instruments appeared in 1963 : Harry Chamberlin invented the Mellotron, it was playin tape-loop samples.

Then in 79 Linn LM1 was the first drum machine.

In 1980 : First sampling workstation : Fairlight CMI.

There was a lot of other sampler and machines, attempt and innovations around these years, I will not list them all, but after Ensoniq Mirage who was the first budget, Akai products really took over the market.

Basically embemding hip-hop, sampling, PCM synthesis and many other technologies emerge, and it changed the industry forever, givin everyone the opportunity to produce music with a low budget.

Before you would have to hire musicians, and go trough all the studio ''secret'' processes.

Nowaday, everything goes around sampling. Wether multisamples patches, sound modules, sample cd, akai cd, virtual samplers (Halion, Kontakt, GiGa Studio,etc.) or VST instruments, everything is build on it.

New technologies are developped : From Roland Variphrase to ACIDized wavs, lot of software and machines use innovative and creative way to record and edit samples

That's the point I wanted to highlight, that in fact we're all samplers, workin on different setups, each our own way.

Part Of Sampling Is Showing Appreciation To Music That Made It Way Back When. The Other Part Is Making Songs That Maybe Not Too Many Peole Know About Come To Light. I Think Sampling Is Good Unless Its A Song That Seemingly Every Body Has Already Sampled, A Song That Came Out Like 2 Weeks Ago, Or A Song That Wasnt Hot When It First Came Out.

here here I do agree that shit just makes uk music look bad, ive heard alot of people say its good because it gives people an outlet who would not normally have a means of getting exposure.

However the downside is anyone can go out and get some craked software record a wack album and be on channel u a week after they got the software.

that is some bullshit cos then ur encouraging people to not take the time to learn and develop they skills. It also floods the market with wackness and gives uk music a bad name.

imagine someone comes from the states and watches channel u, they gonna think we are like 20 years behind because the level of creativity is appalingly low.

its like saying "well, technically, if yuo reeeeeeally think about it, from this perspectiv, we everyone isactually sampling in a certain way"

its reaching to come to the conclusion. i am not sampling by playing a piano patch with my own melody; if we get technical, i am "sampling" by using the patch created by the person who sampled each individual note from the piano that someone else built.

and mikelabz, no one is taking a "good" or "bad" stance on sampling.

i just cant see why we have to have this discussion; good music is good music! i dont care how you make it.

Why can't you let poeple have opinion and observe things like they want, especially me!!

T's'been several times now, you always come back at me like you want the last word and wut I'm sayin is shit.
