No matter what I watched over the weekend, MTV, BET, FOX, NBA games, NFL games, AM talk radio it didn't matter I could not escape the "Get Rich or Die Trying" trailers. I'm up at all times of the night and day (I don't sleep) and I saw it in the early morn, noon, and night. Say what you will but when it comes to marketing and promotion, this guy doesn't take any shorts.

How much do you think they spent on promotion? I know it's a shit load because the billboards, television, radio, and print media is bananas. I know 8 Mile didn't get this kinda push but maybe the success of 8 Mile allowed 50 to push for a crazy promo budget. They're giving away Get Rich or Die Tryin' iPods, complete with the entire G-Unit collection and covered in a Get Rich skinning and there's a contest to win a pair of limited edition Get Rich or Die Tryin' shoes from Reebok: in the "Walk a Mile in 50's Shoes" contest. Say word!

I hope 50 dies of an uncurable strain of syphilis. I could care less. He let me down,,,I actually was diggin the album(Get Rich or,,,) and then he went too far wit the G-Unit bullshit. I guess everybody needs a movie to get there street cred? Look at it like this,,,Interscope has loot and believe in him and what he does so they back up all his shit. Not to mention Interscope has every Radio station and TV staion on lock. They are slowly monopolizing the industry,,,watch,,,it's like fuckin Star Wars.

Naw it aint just you cuz I caught the same thing watching the same outlets you listed. And it really tripped me out when I heard the commercial on the local am sports ralk radio. The radio station around here had a preview for the movie a day ago and people were sayin the movie is actually pretty good. One dude on the radio went as far to say that "Get Rich or Die Tryin" is an instant classic on some Menace 2 Society/ Juice type ish.
Wup cant lie I wanna see it.

No matter what you say; Curtis Jackson is a smart man... He's doing what any man in his position should be doing... He's not going to be a rapper at the age of 50, so he needs to make as much money as possible by keeping his options open and venturing into every market possible... Sellout? Yes... But when he's 43, living in a big mansion and providing a good life for his wife and privately educated kids... All you can do is congratulate the man.

yea hes putting out some good tracks a few of the tracks of his soundtrack are good, hes guna make a lot of money from it, and like b said its funny so many people hate on him, the guy can rap you only have to listen to his old stuff to tell that but he quickly realised he didnt need to rap all the time to make money he could do simple songs and side ventures !
