Inspiration Block

Man, I was sitting here in the lab today from about 3-8:30 with dinner in between and I couldn't come up with anything. For me I can't just sit down and pop a beat out of my head cuz if I did, I would feel like it just sits there on my page and doesn't represent anything or have any purpose even if it was the dopest thing on the net ya know what I mean? Some of you guys might not know cuz you don't take the music as serious as I do but I just wanted to know where you guys get inspiration from cuz lately nothing in my life, which is where I usually am inspired by, has popped up giving me the inspiration to create another beat. Things that happen in my life inspire me to create beats cuz for every single beat on my page right now, I could tell you what inspired me to make it except for the one for the RB comp haha. Its been bugging me and pissin me off cuz I've got the urge to make a beat but I can't get anything to come out. I've been tryin to get into other genres of music for inspiration but nothings clicking yet.

Just had to vent it out, its been pissin me off for the last 4 hours.

man just like anything else u need to take time of and find other outlets, i take time off from beat making all the time to focus on stepping or playin the keys...

Point is you need fuel for your creativity, You cant force it...

haha you know what i do sometimes?

i listen to really shitty avant-garde electronica or a really crappy hip hop producer...then i go "are they serious?" and it just makes me want to make a beat better. i know its kind of like the audio equivalent to a 7th grader beating up on a 4th grader...but it works when you want to keep the muscles loose as far as production...

also, listen to a favorite song of yours and try to capture the same energy as that beat without biting it...the last one i tried that with was cage's "the death of chris palko" and it ended up being the beat c-rayz walz is gonna use for his "walkthough" remix...so you never know

When I have producer's block I like to watch old Black sitcoms on TV Land. If nothing good comes on I turn to the soul music channels and keep listening until something hits me.

i drop whatever music shit im doing, and go and spend time with my girl, movie, talking, whatever, just to get my mind off music, then the next day when i come back im usually good to go..

or if u really wanna keep workin. dont set yourself up to get aggrivated. just play corny shit just fuck off dont try to maker hot shit. try and purposly make a corny song and i garuntee ull find atleast one lil pattern of something u like and u can save it for later
