Importing Files To Protools From Other Programs????

Im Tracking Out My Beats With Stienberg Nuendo 2 And Im Trying Export Then To A Folder And Burn Them On Cd So I Can Take To Another Studio To To Import Themi Have 2 Questions 1st Is That I Run Into A Problem When I Try To Put The Files From Nuendo Onto My Nero Burning Software A Messege Pops Up And Says Cannot Add Files Because The Wma Files Are Protected And My Second Question Is Once I Do Get Them To Burn And Import Them Into Protools Is There Anyway I Can Keep The Sequence Of The Beat Just Like It Is In Nuendo Or Do I Have To Line All The Tracks Up All Over Agian

I dont know about the Nero thing.

I use Pro Tools, but I also make beats in other apps like cubase. When I do, I save each track as a .wav file & then import each one on a new track in PT's. Then I make a selection over 4 bars to make a perfect loop. Then I use identify beat to make PT Grid match up with the beat. Then I can chop move stuff around like normal, when everything is on the grid. tempo and everything will be the same, then you can sync up reason or whatever, & everything will lock. this is the easiest way for me and hassle free.

OMF. Files

Save your tracks as an OMF. file. I think it called "export as an omf. file" under the file menu. However the Protools user has to have digitranslater. Most of the newer versions of Pro Tools that are not free have this option. I tink LE users have to pay extra for it. When it works: all the tracks and mixer channel settings will line up as if you were using Nuendo, minus the effects.

theexport worked but when i try and burn the file to cd it still says that it cannot add file because the selected wma files are protected

Make sure you are exporting the files as waves into 1 folder, such as "beat 1". In Nero, make sure you are selecting attempting to burn "data" and not trying to create a CD. Once you select data, you can select that entire file named "beat 1" and burn it to the disk. I use this method all the time taking a beat from my Cubase SX to my partners Protools setup.
