Thx for the kind words.
I agree entirely that art must not divide but unite, and most political topics should then be left off.
However, I would not consider George Floyd's death as a political matter but a matter of inhumanity that some humans are capable of. Art must be the mirror of humanity and inhumanity if need be.

I agree art is a reflection of the world that manifests it. Music should be political in my opinion, songs like Gil Scott Herons "The Revolution Will Not Be Televised", Bob Dylan - "All Along The Watchtower", Public Enemy - "Fight The Power", Redman - "Time 4 Sum Aksion"

While music can and should be political, to raise awareness of issues, my only objection to politics comes to discussions here on ill, as they can quickly devolve into arguments as people fail to see eye to eye or accept that somebody else might have a different opinion to their own. Same with religion, just causes too many arguments.

If I feel like having an argument I go straight to facebook, arguments find me very easily there hahaha.

I @2GooD Productions feel expressing political sentiments in music should be done by an artist or artists who like(s)to express such if it is who they are but I like when someone is well informed about it to inject social commentary into their work as I hate half assed subject matter of any kind.

I've always hated when rappers get political wrong not that I expect(ed) rappers to be social, etc. advocates.

I couldnt agree more, if somebody is going to raise awareness on anything, it really goes a long way if they know what the fuck they are talking about in the first place. We have an over abundance of uninformed celebrities giving opinions on things they have either been paid to say or know nothing about. That does more harm than good.

Just to explain further what I wrote earlier,
I like when artists raise concern about a matter sayin' "here is a subject we should all think about".
I hate when artists use their art to tell people "here is what you should think about this subject".

Artists have the power to influence people through their art. I think everyone should have his own opinion and not follow others. So I often wish artists would keep from using their influential power. That mostly apply to interviews or other public speaking. When it comes to the songs, books, movies, I feel people should write whatever they feel.
I wrote stupid things. I still do. But it reflects my thought at a certain point in time. It therefore should exist as just the expression of that. It does not define me. Nor should it be taken for something final.

I wish @YannFer people were more media literate, period. This is something I'm an advocate of.

You all must taste this one day!

I would slightly differ in that its good people keep up with current events and politics because it dictates our lives and where our lives are going, but I would suggest caution of most of the mainstream media that has become entirely ideology driven where the truth takes second place to globalist agendas and political hit pieces. When trying to keep up with current affairs its really best to try and get a broad source of information as the truth is usually somewhere inbetween all the extremes the mainstream feeds us to divide us.
