u dont need a midi controller to start out, just download a demo version of FL studio or reason to your computer and start from there. Dont expect mircales though, it takes time, pratice and talent to become a producer. You gonna have to learn about MIDI, audio, and how to use both.l

Ohh and FYI , im really not feeling ur name at all, u couldent come up with anything better then that??

Welcome to IllMuzik.

You can use your computer's keyboard as a MIDI controller.

Check this:
www.midiox.com

It's got everything you need to make your computer keyboard function as a MIDI controller.

^^^^ right...good call!

So... tell me about this midi stuff and why you want that oxy ?

I want that oxy cuz it has the best price/quality stuff I've seen so far, and on Tightbeatz.com a lot of people have it too.
And it only €150 or sumtin, I'm still lokkin for a better price

And the basic stuff I knew bout midi b4 I searched fo info was: It is infi bout thenote how long it is how hard and what note and some other stuff. and I knew that in FL u could load a midi into any vst and it would sound like that instrument.
And that serchin on the internet hasn't learnt me much new bout midi

@Darkneger; hey gozert lol

The oxy is fine, except for one small argument...not enough octaves to play with, I'd try to look at a 49key midi controller at the minimum. This is just an obstacle being limited to such a small keyboard, yes it fits on your desk but its less expressive/intuitive on your score writing/recording.

Haze Dude, I didnt even know he was dutch untill you pointed that out hehehe

What you intend to do ? Use knobs/sliders or just piano playing your vst's and samples ? If it just piano playing then anything goes as long as has midi I/O and keys you find comfortable to play with.

thats the truth. i used FL for over a year before i knew what a midi keyboard was. learning the sequencer at very precise ranges is a good thing and midi keyboards will not help with fixing sequences. though, if you are great at keyboard then fix is not an issue. but if you have no piano experience then being nice with the sequencer is nice.

So what's so special about this? I can dial through a few hundred patches on a dozen pieces of equipment in a matter of minutes by only touching the MPC track-/+ buttons with one hand and master controller keys/program change with the other hand. A great time saver arrangement when I have an idea on the top of my head and need to get it out. In an inspirational moment I can whack out and entire song in 15-20 minutes. This is probably why I don't have that much recorded. If you could blow snot out of your nose every half hour would you keep any of it?

Yo, if he's concerned about playing the piano as controller to vst instrument then he can use any piece of gear which has keys and midi. So just about anything goes, even old yamaha psr's, old synthesizers anything with midi.
