My favorite rnb tracks have always had harder hiphop beats. Ever since Mary J dropped her first album Ive really taken a liking to hard hiphop beats with soulful artists on top, anyway look on the bright side, it makes leasing the beat very profitable. A much larger market.
Ive always wanted to do rnb with the hiphop beats, its a formula for success IMO. I cant stand all them slow jams and smoove shit, but if the beat is hiphop its all good. Some of my favorite rnb....... Amerie - Just One Thing, Tweet - Oops Oh My, Mary J - Whole First Album, Alfonzo Hunter - Weekend Thang, that sort of thing.
Dont compromise on your beats and just keep doing what you do, you do it right.
It takes innovators to lead the way, take Timberland for example. He created a whole new sound for hiphop. He didnt jump on the latest bandwagon, he stayed true to his self and won through, BIGTIME.
