Spectrasonics Trilogy.

Hands Down. I didn't believe the hype at first, but its one of the nicest VST's period, not just bass. (IMO)

EDIT: oh damn, i read ur post but somehow missed the besides trilogy,

Arturia Minimoog has some nice sounding synth basses, i've made quite a few bass patches for it. Thats about it, i usually focus on orchestral instruments in vst's.

yeah not to be annoying or nothin but is there a reason why trilogy doesnt work? its hands down the best, there really is not anything out there that compares to it.

Novation BassStation and the free Tritium Bass synth (might be hard to find) are the two that I use most often along with the free NorthPole filter.

some people dont like trilogy because they dont know how to use the filters to maipulate the sound of the basses. You have to fuck with it. believe me ive had it for like a year and im just learning how to really use it for all it is. Sanova said it great by saying its one of the best all around vsts because its got bass sounds that can be manipulated into great lead synths and other synths for composing. Just learn how to use the low pass and hi pass filters and its a bad ass machine
