honestly is akai mpc 200 basically like the computer with the software on it?
i never understood if it was on a computer or not
also, how the fuck do you get your finished projects out and on a modern day computer? with fucking floppy disk? ive gotten tired of using my mac and software and midi controllers because i have so many brilliant ideas but hate putting up with the limitaions softwares has or the annoying as fuck little tips you need to know instead of just being able to play a song and tap you drum pad on the beat to spread out on the pads and you can repeat parts of the sample back and fotht thenc ontinue to finish
like i get so annyoed tring to chop samples with my mouse and keyboard then being able to add drums and other shit with the keyboard and drum machine
i have moe quesitons but aanswer these for now

Technically the MPC (and all other workstations) are computers completely dedicated to music production. Very much like your cell phone is basically a computer dedicated to phone calls and text messaging.
There are tutorials and past threads answering your other questions. Search for them, its quite easy to find.

Also, I have questions for you? What limitations in what software are you facing? And why do you think any MPC will be less limited?

You didn't really ask much Kayo.. sounds like you just needed to vent.

goodluck with your projects.. be careful investing your money through research, there is a learning curve with everthing and an MPC will not make you an ill beatmaker

I feel your pain dude, its frustrating when you know that something can do what you want, but not how to make it do it.
I let my mpc 2500 literally sit collecting dust for a bout a year as I kept foolin with the Triton because I wasnt able to just sit down and make it work. Yes even withthe manual there, I was pissed like you are because I was aware of its functions but couldnt just "go to it " yet.
Eventually I just shut off everything that wasnt the mp and made myself learn it.
Took quite a while but nowadays even though I dont have it completely mastered yet Im much much happier.

One way of getting your projects out of an mp onto the pc is to use a DAW, I use protools but of course there are quite a few different ones out now adays. I would say besides that investment in your mp, your DAW is going to be the most important you make and worth the investment so choose what you think will work best for you .
Again learning this is also going to be a learning curve and will take time but once you get the knowledge you wont lose it, you will use it.

Your DAW is going to prolly need a firepod or something comparible , this is basically a box that is going to allow you plug into it and will look familiar in an analog sort of way because it will have 1/4" plugs and mic looking inputs and then it will plug into your pc.

That is how the sound gets into the pc, once in there you can edit it, it is best to drop one track at a time or to at least have them split into different trax in order to better manipulate them and it gives you a much fuller sound. Thats how they do it in the big studios.

I will tell you this, you have come to the right place to learn about how to get those projects out, its a new day with music and it took me a while in my brain to make the conversion from the analog way to digital but with the help of these guys here and repetition as well as learning patience Im doing much better!

To me it sounds like you know how to make your stuff but the whole computer age is frustrating you and thats understandable.
The main thing is patience and just doing it, dont be afraid to ask or use the search function on here because thats how I have been figuring it out.

Well your MPC is SOOOOO much more limited than even something like FL studio, but you can still make amazing tracks with an MPC. Sounds like you just need to learn your tools. You should be able to use your weapon of choice totally intoxicated, half asleep and with both eyes closed. If you cant do this you do not know your tools well enough yet. I would say really get to know what you have. I choose to mainly work in Reason and I know every shortcut and every strange quirks about the program (IE: did you know you can take the screws of some of the old modules?) Good luck!

lol.i was thinking the same.

you cant just "buy" software and know how to use it straight out the box. if you do a search on this site(there are other resources also but ill has em all beat) im sure you will find helpful tips on using the software of your choice. even with an mpc you can tap the buttons, but you still have to learn the functions. i would like to know what kind of limitations software has that can be solved by switching over to an mpc.
