How to get beat placements???!!!

Hi, I have been producing for about one and a half years now, and think it is about time to start putting my music out there. However, I have no idea how to get my beats to rappers. The only thing I can think of currently is by DMing them on Instagram, but doing this has not worked out for me at all. If anyone has any experience in getting beat placements, then I would very much appreciate some tips on doing this. Thank You!

There are certain services from various websites but from my experience, it's hit or miss. But that's with anything in the music business. The thing is, getting your beats heard is something that is constantly evolving. It used to be you would shop a demo to a label, then it was about someone discovering you, then companies will help you get placed, etc. Now it's more or less about networking, that's it.

This means your music needs to be all over the place on various social platforms, and you need to actually connect, rather than spam everyone, which I see way too often. It definitely won't happen overnight, so you have to give yourself quite a while to get to the point of being heard.

But while all that is going on, always continue to improve your beats and learn new things.

Honestly getting placements with established artists is like the lottery. Dudes are throwing beats at them constantly.
If you really want to be a producer find the dope rapper with 100 followers. That's where you can get somewhere.
And at a year and a half in you can't expect the world to come to your doorstep. I know dudes with 10 years under them looking for that golden Ticket.

My secret to getting placements is really simple actually. Go to networking events, and show up at studio sessions.

You don't even need business cards now a days. You can just meet someone at an event and get their IG.

In my opinion, this is the best way. Online communication is always going to be shady/unreliable.
