also, dont go out and buy the expensive equipment, unless you have the talent to match. theres nothing worse in my opinion then some1 havin an MPC2000xl and a Triton, when he's 6months into producin. its just not good
kinda offtopic, but there was a vid with neptunes, where they said you have to master the equipment you have, and know it inside out, before you move onto something else. its sound advice
thats why i say, learn the 3x OSC, or another basic synth, learn about Ring Modulation and Frequency modulation, learn what different waves mean soundwise, what the envelopes mean, gates mean etc etc
and one of the best ways to do this is through trial and error (imo), and just read up on it
