pretty interesting theory he has on why they keep that grey area grey. it helps them with the big bands and artists that they actually owe money to. It does suck for the smaller artists who they make think that they actually owe money to the label. I say go independent and do your own books. good read.

If you read all the comments, there is a lot more input on that article. I was gonna type up a bunch of opinions and questions but reading the comments answered all of them and more. It just doesn't seem like good look to go major anymore unless you are dope enough to bring in huge crowds.

ominous i agree. the best way to go would be to go independent and see if you have the stuff to be able to make the big bux in the majors.

Im telling ya, the majors are hurting right now...indie has always been the way to go for more freedom and control. Money aint everything...but they were sticking dude.

More of a reason to show independent is the way to go... as far as funding artists are looking at different options. Alot of indie artist are starting to go directly to companies for sponsorship. Im pursing this avnue as well
