ok iv been producing for some time now about 7 years now k i aint that damn hot but thats probly because of my budget im 13 for those who didint know. so now i got a little group i wana put out but i dont know how to record
so thats what im here to talk about. like how do you record on a budget? lol because if i could get some vocals on the beats i made without buying some studio time because that really drains the hell outa me. so how is it done?

Well, all you need is some headset with a microphone that cost around 60$.
It's really how you record, how you position your mouth from the mic and all, and how you mix it.

I was thinking the same thing.

And I need to know your budget for equipment. And are you looking to honestly be able to use this as a studio or rather just lay down some quick vocals?

My suggestion first off is don't go out and just cop a mic. Buy a recorder (those handheld ones not the lil flute thing) then save up at least like $500. You can buy lil studio packages for like $500. I say buy a recorder at first so at least you will have the flow down for when you have that money.

I suggest you don't worry about stuff like that because 13 year olds dont have good mic voices and you could be fine tuning your production capabilities for the next few years until you are old enough to be dealing with everything. I know I would be a way better producer if I had been practicing since I was 13, just give it time, you have plenty.

Yah mike's write you don't really have a good voice for a mic that age. I mean I'm only 14, I used to/still do write but outloud my voice ain't all that nice to a mic lol. Seriously record yourself for a minute, listen, then listen to like Nas. If you want to rap keep at it and keep at your production in a few years your flow will already be ill, your voice will be fine for a mic, and your production will be beyond nice. You'll be the one every label wants because they don't have to pay for anything but studio time/promo.

If you just kick it at home and rock reason/FL beats or establish some sort of song from yer MP and then have a freind come over later to track him into PT or a stolen copy of adobe audition - THATS NOT PRODUCING!!!.....

All im sayin is make some logical sense of it all. Is anyone even really thinkin about what the capacity of a childs mind is at 6 yrs old, or for that matter - what the typical 6 yr old would be doin for entertainment at that age?....Im not sayin its not possible, but definitly highly unprobable. I already openly admitted i went on a bit with a rant in my initial post and if it came off a bit cocky my bad for that, but I think it was justly fit if you examine all sides so im not gonna apologize to the extent that im entirely outa line.

Im am sorry for killing the thread though, if thats what happened, but was it even going anywhere in the 1st place?
