dont get me wrong i know how to use it and make beats, but i know for 2399 there has to be alot of shit that i am not doin with this. esp since the only place i go is the sequencer and combination. Now if i wana make the type of beats with all those wierd sounds and shit like the commercial shit on da radio what would yall triton professionals suggest. insert effects? i use those but for some reason i usually dont get any spectacular sounds. sometimes i do but rarely. is there somethin im missin?? please any help is appreciated!

Go to combination. Choose a sound you like and remember what section and number (for ex. A035). Go back to seq and go to file and choose write combination or something like that. Choose tracks 1 - 8 and highlight the box thats says effects. Now that combination sound will be on tracks 1 - 8. You can play it using any track from 1 - 8, but now those tracks are like one track. So you can only work with 9 - 16 for the rest of the beat.

You can play with the sounds in it, like putting some effects on a clap or piano and whatever and then sample it into your sampler, the gives it a nicer feel sometimes.I do that with the Mp and I get some nice lil different sounds. or just midi it to your sequencer with different time signatures. The sampler is great for loops sampling, but the MP is better for one-shot samples. Or like somebody mentioned go in and create you some combinations, you can make 8 different sounds into one sound, and then do up to 10 effects on them. Then sample that. If you get all into this machine, it will up your shit and few levels.

You want to start assigning envelopes to the FX routes, as well as distorting the base "sample" sounds from the ROM through envelope/filter manipulation.

The Triton is very good at having assignables assigned to other assignables, like FX, and you can make bizarre sounds by, as I said, messing with the attack, sustain, decay, release, cutoff... there's a lot.

You can have an assignable, called A1, for example, and then A2 assigned to another assignable called B1. Then B1 can be manipulated more and then you can apply that routing sequence to the base sample (not the combination) and mess with it.

Sincerely,
God

helix- i am usin the triton classic 76.

clev and soundboy- yea i should start messin with makin my own combinations. you can save them right?? i think u can ill have to look in the manual. it'll take up more time but im sure its worth it.

god- this is probably gonna take the longest time. this probably takes alot of time and gives good results. but its necessary to get the 2399 dollas out of the machine, along with makin you own combinations. i will admit tho, i dont think alot of people with tritons use even 60% of their capabilities. well most hip hop producers anyway. because i know like them drum and bass ppl is bad with this shit. and them ambience creators i know they are sick with tweakin n shit like that.
