What up yall? I know there was a tutorial somewhere on here but i couldn't find it again. All i need to know is how can I stop the clicking when i loop a sample in cool edit pro 2.0?
I think what Messenger means, if the click occurs at the beginning or end of your loop, then that's because the transistion between the 2 is uneven. Make sure that when you cut the beginning and end, that you cut it where the wav curves hit the middle line (which is point zero).
fade out the end points of your loop, that will get rid of the click. To clarify select a very small piece of the end of your loop and select fade out in your audio editor. Also make sure its an even loop. Hope this is clear enough.
Architect-i've been doin that it works good. I just figured that out after hours of thinkin about stoppin the clicks. Nice tip though, thanx.
DeLay- i had acid but it alsways got fucked up everytime i used it for more than like an hour at atime. Probably just my system. I liked it ,but i switched to logic and that shits that mutha fukin bombdigitty!
damn, i never thought bout fadin the sample. never thought about choppin at the zero either. i jus chop away n i usually dont get much of that clickin sound. sometimes i do, most of the times i dont. ima cross my fingers jus in case i start to. haha. but thats some good advice yall.
I use Wavelab 4.0 for editing. If you can get a hold of this program it has an automatic declicker and noise reduction process......all at the click of the mouse. It's as easy as ....... well, you get the idea.
dont get to used to fading at points when you hear clicks, the clicks are as a result of whats been explained above, and best to sort them out by fixing them properly, i.e. editing at the zero crossing points. learn your trade properly, cos the fades could easily screw up your track, or what would you do when it comes to vocals?
