i'm usin mpc2000 and cubase sx..and i got that shitty midi/joystick cable..i'd like to know how could i sync my mpc and cubase via midi/game port on my soundcard..any help is appreciated..
i didn't have this problem when juxin my setup so i suggest getting a more universal cable like a 1/4 inch converted to something compatible with your soundcard. Which brings me to.. what soundcard do you have?
you should plug the male end of the connector to the joystick port (mpu-401) (the female end on the cable is just a Thru for your joystick) then plug the midi in cable to the out input on the mpc and the midi out cable to the in input on the mpc....then in cubase set the mpu-401 as your mid device, you might need to turn the soft thru on, when you go to the grid editor you need to test it to see if you can trigger samples from there....( i used cubase a long time ago so that is the basics of what I remember maybe someone has that same setup that can help you out a lil beyond that) you may also have to set up your midi configuration on the mpc possibly depending on the mpc.
