ILLIEN
ill o.g.
so here's the scenario.
i used to have just two rokit 5s directly connected with two mogami trs balanced 1/4" cables from the speakers into my audio interface. and my audio interface connected usb into my computer. there was no hissing under this situation.
I recently just purchased the krk rp-10s sub (which may i add is definitely worth it for anyone who just has the 5's), and connected my two 5's to it via livewire xlr-xlr cables. I know those aren't great but they are shielded. I connect the sub to my audio interface with the two mogami cables (trs 1/4").
So thats my setup right. Let me add that I have a laptop.
Whenever I have my charger plugged in, I hear an obnoxious hissing sound. Its at a constant volume and doesn't go away when I play songs or anything. Even if I turn down the volume on the interface, the same constant hissing occurs.
However, when I unplug my charger, the hissing magically goes away! What's going on? I tried both connecting the charger from directly into a wall outlet, and using a power surge, and both produced the same hiss.
If I get a power conditioner, will that solve my problem?
I'm pretty sure its not the cables cause I can get rid of the hiss by just unplugging the charger, so any info on what to do would be greatly appreciatied! Thankss.
This really si killing me cause I have to turn off my speakers everytime i'm not listening to a song cause the hissing gives me a headache and I hear its not good for the speakers. let me know your thoughts and advice!
