^^^um new outkast is on its way.
bastard..... if the station says its "the only place for blazin hip hop and rnb..." thats your first clue that your going to hear the same 20 songs by the same 15 artists ALL the time.
i mean, all this is subjective of cours, but some of you that are sayin hip hop is boring, you also seem to limit your hip hop intake to mtv/clear channel stations. thats it. whatever the new trend is, thats what your hip hop is limited to. go check out some live shows by a local artist. check for people you have never really listened to.
my grandma used to tell me, if you are bored, then you must be a boring person, because people who arent boring can always find something to entertain them. perhaps the problem isnt hip hop- perhaps, with some of you, the problem is that you limit yourself to the MASSIVE amount of artists, shows, events, and CULTURE thats out there. if ya'll dig that clear channel sound, hey thats cool, do you, but if you are limiting yourself to that and you are complaining about being bored....
the thing that shocks me here is that we are all artists... we DO THIS, we ARE hip hop, hell we're all PRODUCERS- meaning in all ACTUALITY we are the ones who make this, who give mc's an outlet to spit, who are supposed to be the trained ears to get the best out of any mc, we have that power, and if you are an artist and hip hop is boring to you... man that tells me you arent excercising that power- that tells me that you got to get on that grind, start meeting people, go to shows, start working on something of substance, get your name out, make connections, cause thats where i am at and THAT is VERY exciting.
edit: rythmical, what do you mean, "commons album was meant to be a boring album"????? who on earth told you that? the huge buzz is that this will be a trend setting album, all the magazines are calling it classic or near classic, most fans love it and a few people like me like it a lot.... you'll be hard pressed to find negative reviews of it... so i am very suprised that thats all you have heard, because the buzz is quite the opposite.
