I've been tryna make songs with rizzak for like 4 years now. "we're gonna make the coolest summer album by this summer" every winter, then the next winter we're like "Ayo remember the summer idea?"

very simple 808 based beats

simple beats are dope. I love these kind of beats,

...HOWEVER...

unless you have an artist/vocal. They can end up being a bit 'hm', and if you're planning on entering battles here, they probably won't work so well.

But yeah, if you can get them down good, nail 'em proper, then that's dope. There's a lot of intricacy in what makes a simple beat work.


As for mixing and mastering, start posting shit and we can helppp

these kind of beats. I like this, it's a vibe. Probably wouldn't do great in a battle here.

I find it can be hard pitching these kind of beats too, 'cause a lot of people lack that ability to 'hear' the final product, and hear what's not there. Some need all the bells n whistles. THat's why it's good to work with artists from the get-go as opposed to 'selling beats', and also, if you can find them, decent artists/songwriters who have that ear. Sometimes you can cheat, build the beat up, get the vocal, and remove everything. But some may feel a bit contrary to such choice.
