Why is that? I use reason and would like to leave on all midi devices. Controller and MPD 16 and have them turn off when the computer is shut down or put on hibernation but it wont let me it just restarts. Does anybody know if there is a setting in the computer itself that i need to change? I have a sony vio. Windows XP.

apci is for energy managment and many other settings. each of your pci and agp cards irq and dma will be assigned automatically by windows and xp doesn´t care if some irqs are used twice. i finally deinstalled acpi.
if you want to do that: sitch to system settings / system & system properties / Hardware. Click on Device Manager and go to Computer. It should show ACPI. Doubleclick, switch to driver and choose refresh driver. Now you can install "Standard" computer.

It solved my problem, but I am not sure if it will help you!!! Try this at your own risk and backup your data before you do this!!! After changing from ACPI to Standard you will have to reinstall most of your drivers.

good luck ...

Hey,

I assume that the MPD is a USB device and connects directly to the computer....what about your controller? It is also connected directly or does it go through some sort of interface or soundcard?

Take care,

Nick

Hey,

What is the controller? This is important in knowing how to possibly fix something...the Oxygen8? Edirol?

Take care,

Nick

I have a M-Audio Keystation 61 key as my controller. As well as the MPD-16 for drums.

Hey,

If you only turn one of them off, are you able to hibernate the computer? The point of doing this is to see which device is preventing the hibernation from working.

Also, have you updated your Windows? It may have been a bug that got fixed with a patch.

Take care,

Nick
