I've been working on my mixing. I think I've got my abiliites up where I can good a good sounding mix. My question is about headroom for mastering.

I mix in FL Studio, how much headroom should I leave for the mastering process? At what point should my master fader peak at?

if you're going to mastering never cross -6db before the mastering guy touches it. People think to get a loud final mix they need to give the mastering people like a -3 or -2db mix, but that actually works against you. for the mastering guy to have room to do some real dynamics processing and limiting he needs about 6db to work with.
